Seeds Bendigo - Long Gully
Seeds Bendigo – Long Gully is located in a socially and economically disadvantaged area, north of Bendigo. Historically, Long Gully boomed during the gold rush, boasting a fire station, a primary school, its own police station and courthouse as well as numerous businesses. Most of these have now disappeared. In their place has come generational poverty, drug abuse and family breakdown, to name just a few issues.
The Seeds Bendigo:Long Gully cluster consists of 7 people, including 2 couples and 2 children. They are committed to living in Long Gully in an incarnational and relational way. There are also various volunteers who connect with the Long Gully community through Seeds.
Some of the activities that Seeds Bendigo:Long Gully is involved in include:
- Weekly prayer time
- Monthly community meal at St Matthew's Anglican Church
- Involvement in the neighbourhood house: young mum’s group, bike club, footy arvo, homework club, youth activities.
- Seeds Seminar Series: a public seminar series on faith, community and culture.
- Residential discipleship internship - Seedy House
