Seeds - Melbourne

The charism of Seeds has both created and then developed further out of the life and work of Urban Seed.  Seeds is one way of describing the personal and communal spirituality that lies beneath the foundation of a much broader work of public service and engagement undertaken by the Urban Seed Residential and Staff Community who live and work in the heart of Melbourne's CBD.  Some of the ways they sustain and express the core elements of the Seeds charism is through:

Credo Gathering (11.15am Tuesdays, Credo Cafe @ Collins Street Baptist Church, 1/174 Collins Street. A low key time for singing songs, open prayers and reflection before Credo Cafe Lunch.)

Go Engage! (Mission)
Street and Hospitality: run Credo Lunches and various recreation and creative community activities for all comers particularly marginalised people.

Youth and Schools education: speak to 15000 young people each year about our responses to social issues in the city and the values/ spirituality that underpin it.

Corporate and Political Engagement: active participation in committees, campaigns for social justice and change in the city and beyond.
